How to Help our Students

There are many ways you can support the mission and help the students of Kilian Community College succeed. If you have time, talent, or treasure, you can help!


Annual Fund
The Annual Fund provides support for ongoing, recurring needs and scholarships. Annual gifts play an important part in ensuring the quality of the College in the following areas.

Heating a classroom, installing a new computer, replacing a transcription machine, and a million other day-to-day operations are vital to maintaining Kilian's edge. Educational Program Support makes it possible for Kilian to accomplish the most basic and important part of its mission...providing quality higher education.

Scholarship Support makes a significant difference for Kilian's students, allowing them to complete their degrees and receive life preparation in a college dedicated to their success as adults. Few outside scholarships are available for adult students and generous gifts from friends like you can help Kilian students at a critical point in their education.

While Kilian has no residence halls, its students still desire student life enhancements that support their education. The Student Success Center and planned childcare services are just two of the Annual Fund supported services that place a college education within reach for our students.

Endowment
Gifts to the Kilian Community College Endowment can continue helping people get their college education far into the future. The College uses the interest off funds while leaving the principal untouched. The two funds in Kilian's Endowment support Operations and Scholarships.  Kilian Communtiy College has also established an endowment fund at the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation.

Other Ways to Give
Philanthropy is much, much larger than giving away money. Sometimes gifts of time and talent are just as important. Here are just a few ideas of other gifts you can give to our students:

• Volunteer to tutor in the Student Success Center.
• Refer someone you know to take a class.
• Provide leadership on a committee.
• Teach a class.
• Help to plan a special event.
• Mentor a Kilian student of similar heritage.
