Scholarships

Annual Scholarships
Annual Scholarships are awarded each year the donor funds the scholarship. The minimum amount required to name a scholarship is $1000.

Endowed Scholarships
An endowed scholarship lasts in perpetuity and represents an award based on an interest rate of the principal (amount invested). The principal will be invested according to the investment policy set by the Board of Trustees of Kilian Community College and is intended to maximize the earnings on the principal consistent with a prudent level of risk.

General Scholarship Funds
In addition to named scholarship funds, donations may also be made to the general scholarship funds, one of which is endowed and one is used during the academic year in which it is given. The number of awards varies each year depending on the amount of funds available from each fund. Contributions to the general funds are an excellent way for small groups and individual donors to pool their gifts and make a larger impact on Kilian students.

Encouragement Scholarship Program
To encourage its successful students to continue with their studies, Kilian Community College has established the Encouragement Scholarship Program. Scholarships are based on the following proposition:
  • Recipients must have completed at least 12 credit hours at Kilian with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.5 or more.
  • The scholarship is renewable over three semesters provided the student maintains his or her CGPA.
The minimum donation amount for an Encouragement Scholarship is $1,000.
