Graduation Rate
Public Law 1010-542, Graduation Rate, as amended by Public Law 102-26, requires higher education institutions to report their completion or graduation rate on an annual basis. The graduation rate was 16% for students who entered Kilian Community College on a full-time basis for a degree or transferred to a four-year institution. Kilian
Community College‘s four year average completion rate is 28% for students entering on a full-time basis for a degree or certificate.
Campus Security
Kilian Community College employs a professional security and patrol service from the hours of 5-10 p.m. during the evenings when classes are held. The security officers are trained and in uniform to provide safety to students, faculty, employees, visitors and property at 300 East 6th Street. The professional security representatives are the President‘s representatives in times of emergency.
The Institutional Services Coordinator is the designated on-campus Security Officer. Any on-campus incident such as murder, sex offense (forcible and non-forcible), robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, motor vehicle theft, liquor-law violations, drug abuse violation, and weapons possessions should be reported to the local authorities by dialing 911. Within 24 hours the incident must be reported to the College by completing the College Crime Incident Report located in the Institutional Services Coordinator‘s office.
Students and staff requiring counseling as a result of the incident are referred to a counselor. A SAFETY SEMINAR is provided to students, faculty and staff annually or more often if deemed necessary. A local law enforcement officer and/or a campus security officer presents the seminar. The seminar includes information on:
- Personal safety,
- Prevention of crime,
- Prompt reporting of crime,
- The role of Kilian Community College evening security officers,
- The Kilian annual security report,
- Counseling services available for crime victims, and
- Questions and concerns.
Campus Crime
The College encourages students to report all crimes which occur on college property to the Institutional Services Coordinator. A report of all crimes reported during the previous twelve-month period is published in the Kilian Newsletter in November. It is also available upon request from the Institutional Services Coordinator. The following
table shows incidents that have occurred on the Kilian Community College Campus over the past seven years.

Disability Services
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Section 504, no qualified person will be denied access to, participation in, or the benefits of, any program or activity operated by Kilian Community College because of disability. The ADA law defines disability as "a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities" of an individual; "a record of such impairment; or being regarded as having such impairment." Colleges and universities receiving federal financial assistance must not discriminate in the recruitment, admission, or treatment of students with disabilities. Students with documented disabilities may request reasonable accommodations to enable them to participate in and benefit from all post-secondary programs and activities. A reasonable accommodation is a reasonable modification in policies, practices, and procedures.
Eligibility for Services
Immediately after admittance to Kilian Community College, the student should bring or send a copy of documentation of disability to the Student Services Coordinator. The Coordinator will review documentation supplied by licensed professionals. Depending on the type of disability, licensed professionals may include physicians, chiropractors, licensed psychologists, psychiatrists, or licensed professional counselors (LPC). If the diagnosis was made more than five years prior to the request for accommodation, or if the disability has changed or fluctuated in intensity, an update of the condition may be requested to determine necessary accommodations.
The Accommodation Process
It is the student‘s responsibility to initiate services by contacting the Student Services Coordinator upon admission to the College and registration for classes.
- The student meets with his/her advisor to register for the next semester classes.
- The student meets with the Student Services Coordinator to help identify appropriate
accommodations for each class.
- The Student Services Coordinator generates letters outlining requested accommodations.
- Letters are signed by the Student Services Coordinator and the student.
- Letters are delivered by the student to the instructors.
- The student meets with each instructor to discuss accommodations.
- If necessary, the instructor contacts the Student Services Coordinator to clarify or adjust accommodations.
- The instructor signs the accommodation letter and returns a copy to the Student Services Coordinator.
- Since some accommodations may take a number of weeks to put into place, it is important that students follow the above steps in a timely manner.
Educational Costs
Tuition for students attending Kilian Community College is reviewed annually by the Board
of Trustees. In addition, there is a per semester institutional support fee.
A $25 one-time, non-refundable application payment at the time of registration will
guarantee a student‘s place in a program or classes until the remaining tuition and fees
are paid. MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express are accepted by the College.
In addition to tuition and fees, students can expect to pay for textbooks. Textbooks may be
purchased in the Kilian Community College Bookstore.
Tuition Payment Policy
It is the policy of Kilian Community College that all students:
- Pay tuition and fees before the end of the first week of class, or
- Provide verification of financial assistance (financial aid, vocational rehabilitation, veteran‘s benefits, etc.), or
- Establish a payment plan with the Business Office.
Students failing to meet the above requirement by the end of the first week of class will be administratively withdrawn from their class schedule.
When the payment is not received by the time agreed upon by Kilian Community College and the student, the account is considered delinquent. At the discretion of the Business Office, any student who is not demonstrating a ―good faith effort‖ to pay his/her account will be turned over to a collection agency.
Students who owe on account will not be allowed to register for future semesters. In addition, students who owe on account will not be issued an official transcript of their academic work completed at Kilian Community College.
The Board of Trustees reserves the right to change the tuition and fee schedule at any time without prior notification to either applicants or students.
