The Federal Pell Grant is a program funded by the federal government. The Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Central Processing System tells the KCC Financial Aid Office whether or not you qualify for this grant and the amount. For the 2009-2010 FAFSA Pell Grant awards are from $609 to $5,350, depending upon the annual federal funding of the program.
The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) is also a program funded by the federal government. Students who receive Pell Grants are given priority for receiving this grant. Funding for this program is limited. Please apply early. Applicants typically receive $150 a semester or $450 for the year.
The Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG) is awarded to students that have completed a rigorous high school curriculum and are eligible for a Pell Grant. Eligible students may receive $750 as a first-year student and $1,300 as a second-year student.
